Meet The Team

Kirk Sanders, LAC

We all seek a life with less stress and more joy. As a therapist, my goal is to help clients navigate challenges, build self-awareness, and cultivate healthier thoughts and behaviors. Through deeper insight into emotions and relationships, we can make intentional choices that lead to greater self-esteem, stronger connections, and a more fulfilling life. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness, tailoring my approach to each client's unique needs—whether providing a listening ear or guiding conversations toward meaningful change. Many people today are searching for purpose and direction, and I’m here to help you uncover clarity and meaning in your journey.

When a person has deeper insight into their behaviors and emotions as well as those of other people, it is much easier to be more intentional about the kinds of decisions we make on a daily basis. Sometimes we need to change ourselves in order to have more positive self-esteem and healthier interactions with others. Other times we need to change our environment, who we interact with, or set boundaries against people who are hurting us. As a counselor, my role is to help you to gain insight, explore the pros and cons of myriad decisions, and then to let you make the best decision for your life.

I hold a Master's of Education from Purdue University and a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Indiana University. I specialize in mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, and interpersonal issues, including couples and family counseling. Please reach out for a free 15 minute consultation or schedule with me directly below!

My name is Maria (she/her/hers), and I am truly honored to have the opportunity to connect with you. As an Arizona-raised queer woman of Japanese and Korean descent, my personal experiences and clinical training have shaped my deep commitment to helping others discover and embrace their most authentic selves.

With over six years of experience in the mental health field, I have developed a profound passion for supporting individuals through trauma recovery, family dynamics, neurodivergence, grief, and LGBTQ+ affirming care. I have worked in both community crisis intervention and ongoing counseling, which has reinforced my belief that the most effective therapeutic support meets individuals where they are in their healing journey. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to creating a safe, warm, and inclusive space where clients feel comfortable sharing their most vulnerable concerns—often ones they may not feel able to express elsewhere.

I am formally trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I am also a Certified Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) provider. I strongly believe in the importance of personalized care and that each person deserves an individualized approach to therapy that honors their unique needs and experiences.

If you feel that we may be a good fit, I would be delighted to work together and support you on your path toward healing and growth. Please reach out for a free 15 minute consultation or schedule with me directly below!
